Suugaku Joshi Gakuen Ep 9

Let's keep on going!

This episode starts off with Nina wondering about what she saw last time concerning her older sister. Nina is sure that's it's her, but if it was why didn't her sister say anything to her. Nina decides to stop thinking about it or else she'll go crazy trying to figure it out. In the meantime, Mami is trying to get Kazuki and Sayuri to read this "romantic" novel that has a thief, a princess and a detective in it. She's in love with what she thinks is a romantic line, but Sayuri says it's just cheesy because Mami only reads detective novels, so she doesn't know what love is all about. Mami says that Sayuri never had a boyfriend so what does she know. Sayuri says that she just can't get one and points the finger at Mami saying that she's learning about love through books. Mami retaliates saying that she could get a boyfriend anytime she wanted to, but Sayuri doesn't think so. Nina tells them to cut it out.

The episode cuts to Mami reading her favourite part to Kazuki and Sayuri, but they are both sleeping. Right when she's about to get to the key part, the male teacher walks in with another guy. Mami completely falls for this new guy, named Imawaka, who is going to a be a student teacher. He introduces himself and asks everyone to call him "Waka-sama". That's just... wrong... Anyway, Mami gets up and removes her elastic to show off her long hair. This is a big case, Mami's heart has been stolen!

The episode cuts to Imawaka finishing class and Mami runs up to him, introduces herself (all shyly of course) and tells him "good luck" with his student teaching. Mami is completely in love. Kazuki is surprised that these girls can be so girly. 

The Shibuya Police Squad report that everything is clear at school and salute's Mami's love when they see that Imawaka is looking straight at Mami. Mami blushes and starts to fan herself. 

Nina talks to the nurse about the student teacher and then mentions about seeing her sister. But Nina thinks she must be seeing things because if it was her sister, she would have said something. Nina tries to snap out of it by going to eat some tonkotsu ramen. 

After school, Kazuki sees Imawaka at a bus stop. Imawaka bends down to "tie his shoelaces", but actually pulls out a small mirror to peek underneath the skirt of the woman he bent down beside. Kazuki screams, since he figured out what Imawaka was doing, startling Imawaka.

What a pervert!

Kazuki wants to tell everyone that Imawaka is a peeping Tom, but he doubts that anyone would believe him.    He enters class and tells them that he has something important to say, but they tell him to get lost and Sayuri and Nina practice confession lines to a blackboard version of Imawaka. Mami tries to confess, but fails. Kazuki sees how much fun they are having, and knows that he has to tell them. He gets their attention and tells them, but they don't believe him for a second. Nina says that Kazuki must be jealous because another guy is getting more attention than him. Kazuki continues to plead his case, but Mami just gets furious and tells him to stop lying. Nina and Sayuri both know that Kazuki is not the type to lie, but Mami takes this as Sayuri trying to steal Imawaka from her. Sayuri and Mami verbally fight with one another until they both storm off in different directions.

In class, the tension is high for all 4 of them and Kazuki feels bad for causing such a fight. Imawaka decides to stand near Mami and Mami gets flustered. Imawaka decides to pretend to tie his shoelaces, and takes out his mirror but the reflection from the sun hits Nina in the face and she notices immediately where it's coming from. Imawaka gets pissed that Nina ruined his "fun time". I think this was a dumb move because you can't see anything if a girl is sitting. @.@

Imawaka then goes back to the front of the class and asks Mami a question, but she has trouble answering it because she wasn't paying attention (you know, can't focus on studies because the person you love is like right there). She gives the wrong answer, and Sayuri makes a scene about it while correcting her. Imawaka tells them to stop fighting and they settle down, but Nina has been thinking whether blinded-by-love Mami will believe what Nina has to say. Nina then gets up and says that Kazuki was right and Imawaka is a peeping Tom. Imawaka plays dumb and Nina explains about the mirror and how he was trying to peek at Mami's legs, but Mami still doesn't believe her and Imawaka says he doesn't have a mirror. Mami says that if Nina keeps saying bad things about Imawaka, she'll have no choice but to arrest Nina. Nina grabs the cuffs from Mami and cuffs herself and tells Mami to take her to the police station if she's lying, but Nina wants Mami to believe in her. 

Mami decides to believe in Nina and Nina explains how Imawaka was going to put a mirror underneath Mami's legs. Just like that he won't see anything, but he'll have a great view when he calls her to stand up and he'll be able to see everything. Sayuri grabs and shakes Imawaka and the mirror comes flying out. Imawaka says it's just to check that he looks ok, but Kazuki points out that Imawaka was saying he didin't have a mirror before. Imawaka tries to run, but the Shibuya Police Squad come in and stop him. 

Nina knows that Mami must be in shock by all of this, but is not sure that Mami believes. Mami then has a moment where she must arrest Imawaka, but she can't make herself do it because she loves him. But because she wants to be a police/detective, she arrests him for peeking with another set of hand cuffs. How many of those does she have? That's a very good question, Kazuki. The Shibuya Police Squad salutes Mami's lost love. Mami thanks everyone.

At the end of the episode, a girl appears and says that they all have no future. What does this mean?

This episode reminds me of a story one of my male science teachers told me in high school. He said that there was a guy at a dance and he had a steel-toed shoe. If you shine and buff it really well, it can act as a mirror. So this guy was using his shoe to look up the skirts of girls. Oh yes, very perverted, but he got caught, since light kept reflecting off of it and blinding people.
