Suugaku Joshi Gakuen Ep 11

This episode starts right away with the results of the second round of poker where Reiko has 3 queens, Nina has a pair of jacks, Sayuri has a pair of 9s, but Kazuki has a lonely 8. Reiko wins the second round. Team Nina feels very defeated at the moment. How can they win at this rate?

Nina knows that their approach of trying to win with 2 pairs is not working. She knows that they need Kazuki to pick a card that either matches Nina's or Sayuri's cards. Reiko discards one card.

Nina then realizes that the suit of the card (hearts, spades, diamonds or clubs) is just as important as the denomination of the card. They would have the highest chance to get a flush if they all have cards from the same suit. Nina discards a 7 of spades and king of clubs. Nina then picks up 2 cards, from her face, it looks like she's got 2 cards from the same suit. Sayuri tries to figure out why Nina would discard both cards, and comes to the conclusion that Nina is aiming for a flush. Sayuri discards a 7 of diamonds and looks at Nina for reassurance. Nina nods and says to herself that they are going for a flush of hearts. Nina and Sayuri both stare down at Kazuki hoping he'll understand, but Kazuki ends up changing cards in panic.

Nina discards a queen of diamonds and draws. It seems that she has 2 heart cards. Sayuri discards a 4 of spades and also picks up a heart card (from the way she's looking at Nina). Sayuri and Nina both stare down at Kazuki, but he really doesn't know what to do and decides to hold his card.

Reiko has a straight composed of 8, 9, 10, J, and Q. Nina puts down 9 and king of hearts. Sayuri puts down a 5 and 8 of hearts. Yuu and Mami have both noticed that they are all hearts so far. Kazuki's card, after epically throwing it down, is a 2 of hearts. They've got a flush, which beats a straight, so they win. Kazuki figured out that they were going for a flush and everyone is so proud of him. So the rules are changed back to normal, but the way Reiko reacted at the end made no sense. There must be something bigger going on.

Reiko explains that she's not a transfer student and she was actually scouting potential students for the 3rd year students, who were hidden under cloaks. While Kazuki, Nina and Sayuri ponder over this, a compass (math instrument used to draw perfect circles) shoots into their classroom through the window with a message telling them to meet at the toilets for the final battle, signed the Devil Sisters.

The referee comes in and explains a legend at the school where such a message appears to the person who is worthy of becoming Math Boss. The person who overcomes the final battle will become the Math Boss. The referee continues to explain that many people have failed. Reiko was used to test if Nina was worthy of going up against the Devil Sisters, who no one has ever seen. The referee continues to explain that in order for the Devil Sisters to stay at the school, they had to hold themselves back for 15 years, which means they never graduated (and are probably around 32 now).

Nina accepts the challenge and is determined to find those toilets. Sayuri agrees to accompany her as support, and just as Kazuki starts to run away, Nina forces him to come as well (you know, in case they need to sacrifice someone).

Nina meets up with the nurse to tell her that she's off to the final battle. The nurse is worried about Nina, but Nina says that her sister has walked this path and became the Math Boss, so Nina cannot run away. Nina definitely wants to find out what happened to her sister. Nina, Sayuri and Kazuki do a final battle dance, which is a mash-up of Pyoko Pyoko Ultra, The Manpower, and The Peace.

Team Nina finds a note that says "O - 4 + 10 - 11 + 5". Sayuri says that this adds up to zero, but Nina knows it can't be that easy. She then realizes that the first number is not zero, but the letter O and the addition and subtraction of numbers is letters that many places away in the alphabet. They figure out   "Okujo", which means "roof" in Japanese.

Team Nina get to the roof and find a rolled-up wall scroll. When unravelled, it tells them to go to 2nd year Class A classroom. The Devil Sisters are really making them run around.
Woah. Everything is dyed red and looks kind of creepy.
They find classroom 2-A and enter it to find the cloaked Devil Sisters, who say they are still 3rd year students. The first "sister" removes her cloak and introduces herself as the leader, Sugamo Akina (played by Yasuda Kei, 2nd generation Morning Musume member and now part of Dream Morning Musume). The next "sister" introduces herself as assistant leader, Asakusa Seiko (played by Iida Kaori, 1st generation Morning Musume member, and also part of DMM). Team Nina is shocked about how old they are and the rumours about them being held back 15 years must be true. Akina still says that she's a fresh 17 year old, but no one believes her.

Seiko challenges Nina to a battle of guessing her age. Here's the question:
"1/5 of my life was childhood and 1/3 of it was spent in school. 4/15 was club work and 2 years later I found my path. 4/30 of it was spent working part-time as a tutor." The 4/30 fraction was a big hint about Seiko's age. If she's breaking down her life into a fraction of 30, she must be at least 30 years old. Also, 4/30 is not a simplified fraction; it should be 2/15. Nina easily solves it and says that Seiko is 30 years old.

Nina's way: Compile all the info together. Solve for X. X = 30.
Seiko admits her age and freaks out that her question wasn't hard enough. Seiko self-destructs and is out.

Akina steps up and battles Nina with dice. Whoever rolls the highest amount with 10 die, and all the die stays in the tray, wins. Akina claims to be a Wizard of Probability and drops her dice where all of them landing are 6. However, one dice fell off the tray, which means she loses. Akina freaks out and challenges Nina to one last math problem, Fermat's Last Theorem, which has never been solved (or so she says), and the Devil Sisters are experts on it. Nina says that they've solved that problem 10 years ago. (Since the Devil Sisters have been stuck in school for 15 years, they never knew about that.)

So the Devil Sisters self-destructed, but is it really over? Is Nina really the Math Boss? Then another cloaked figure with a mask walks in. The voice is familiar to Nina. It's her sister (played by Ichikawa Rika, 4th generation member of Morning Musume and also part of DMM), but she has circles drawn around her eyes for some strange reason.
Sayuri: Panda
Nina's sister explains that Nina isn't the Math Boss yet as she has to go through one more person: her sister. The final battle will soon commence! But why is Nina's sister acting like this? What happened when she became Math Boss? Hopefully, the final episode will tell all!
