Happy Thanksgiving! + Kamonegix Full Dance Video

Happy Thanksgiving to all my Canadian readers! :D

So, lack of motivation has caused me to not blog in the past 2 months. @.@ I am slowly getting back into the groove of blogging, so be prepared for some AKB0048 episode reviews. I have other blog post ideas in the works, which will be more on the informative side like my Idol Auditions in Japan post.

Lately, I have been thinking about what dances to cover. I pick a song, and then download all the videos I can find, but not one video is good enough to follow (unless you are watching dance shot versions from Hello! Project groups). Watching 4 different videos 20 times to learn a dance is very time-consuming and slightly annoying.

As I have been really into NMB48's latest single "Kamonegix" (カモネギックス), I decided to make a video focusing on the dance to simplify the life of anyone who was planning on covering it, but could not find a good reference video. There is a "Dancing Version MV" of this song, but I think the editor got way too fancy with how many camera angles they had. Using 3 different camera angles in the span of 2 seconds is unnecessary and does not particularly help those learning the dance.

Without further ado, here is the full dance version of NMB48's "Kamonegix":

Montreal Comic-Con 2012

So on Saturday, September 15th, I attended Montreal Comic-Con. I didn't have any particular expectations; I just wanted to shop, attend some panels, and enjoy myself.

I arrived at 8:45am at the Palais des Congrès, and there were so many people waiting to get inside. Luckily, the line moved quite a bit during the time I was waiting, and I was even able to get upstairs, after getting stamped, into a holding area until 10 am, which is when the convention starts.

I followed the mob of people to the dealer's area, and it was huge. It was definitely going to take me all day to get through it, but I only browsed through 3 aisles until I left to go attend Johnny Yong Bosch's panel at 11 am. I got there 20 minutes before the start, and JYB was saying how we were so early. I apologized, and he said he didn't mind, it's just that they were still setting up. Check out the pre-panel footage here. I wasn't particularly a fan of JYB before this panel because I haven't really played (besides some Sengoku Basara) or watched any anime that he voice acted in. However, I was smiling throughout his entire panel, and loved every second of it. I'm his fan for life now. <3

Summer is over? @.@

Hey!

So... I kind of disappeared for awhile because I just got so overwhelmed with all the things I had to do this summer, whether planned or unplanned. ^_^"

For the planned part, I was busy with Otakuthon up until even after the convention was over. I'll write a separate post about that.

For the unplanned part, I got an internship at a research lab, and I started working there since the first week of July, so I've been pretty busy with that, and I still have tons of scientific papers to read. @.@ It's a big learning curve for me, but it's definitely going to be worth it in the end.

I had originally planned to just work for one year, and then go back to school to get my Master's degree. However, there are so few job offers in my field, and the job offers that I've found ask for 3-5 years of experience, which is pretty much impossible to get at my age, especially since getting a summer internship of 4 months is already difficult. So, things happened, and I'm on my way to doing my Master's, which will take at least 2 years to complete.

Hmm.. What else did I do this summer? Well before Otakuthon, I went to see some movies at Fantasia. I usually see about 2 movies every year, but this year I saw 5 movies. I saw Ultraman Monster Galaxy Battle, which was pretty good. I got to learn a lot about the history of Ultraman by one of the Fantasia staff in charge of screening the film just before it started. The second movie I saw was "The Kick". It's a Korean movie about Taekwondo; it was funny, and action-packed all the way through. It's a definite must-see. Then I saw a movie called "Quick" right after. From the trailer, I thought there was supposed to be some funny parts, but when I saw the movie, there was very little of that. It was actually ridiculously stressful, since a mail courier who drives a motorcycle is forced to deliver bombs to certain people or else his ex-girlfriend will be killed because there is a bomb in his helmet, which she is wearing. The guy still secretly loves her, but broke up with her in the past because he didn't want to be a negative influence on her. >.< The fourth movie I saw was Phoenix Wright. It was amazing. I didn't even play the games, but I definitely want to play them now.  The last movie I saw was "Love Fiction", another Korean movie. This one was a romantic comedy. I found it interesting, but my sister found it boring. I guess nothing can beat "My Sassy Girl" when it comes to Korean romantic comedies.

MIA for 4 Weeks

Hey~ As some of you may have noticed, I kind of disappeared for a month. ^_^" This was because I was extremely busy with studying for midterms this past month and I had no time to do any blogging or make any videos (or even watch Suugaku Joshi Gakuen T_T).

The Thursday that just passed was the climax for all of the studying I had been doing the weeks before hand. When I knew the schedule of my classes and when midterms would be, I was dreading March 8 because I knew that it would be the toughest school day I had ever faced. I had 2 midterms scheduled on this day and because it was a Thursday, I also had a lab to deal with. Because of the midterm conflicts, I was able to write one of my midterms in the morning, but it would be a very long day nonetheless.

This is how that day went:
5:00 AM - Wake up, shower, eat breakfast and study
6:15 AM - Head to school with my school bag filled with snacks, green tea, notes for my 2 midterms and my lab stuff
7:00 AM - Write my first midterm
8:30 AM - Finished my first midterm and went to buy 2 sandwiches, which will be my lunch and supper
9:00 AM - Studied for my second midterm at the cafeteria and ate my first sandwich
11:30 AM - Climbed a hill to get to the library. It's also the same building where my lab class is located. I had to wait outside for 15 mins because the building was evacuated and closed because of a chemical spill that caused a fire.
11:45 AM - Headed to the library to prep for my lab. Struggled with the library printer. Studied some more for my second midterm. Headed to the lab with my lab partner.
1:30 PM - Working on an experiment in the lab (which I'll eventually have to write a lab report on, which takes 20+ hours to do @.@)
5:30 PM - Lab finished an hour earlier than usual. Headed to the building where my second midterm is held and studied some more with my friend. Ate half of my second sandwich.
6:30 PM - Write my second midterm and I also finished the rest of my sandwich during the midterm
8:00 PM - Freedom!
8:30 PM - Watched Big Bang Theory and passed out on the couch.

I can't believe I survived it. The days leading up to it were very tiring and difficult to get through. Even though I can "relax" now, I still have quite a few things left to do before exams start, but at least I'm over that mountain. ^_^" I should be blogging in the next week and possibly do a video if I have enough time in between catching up and studying for all my classes, so please look forward to that.

Also during this month I was away, I did a lot of thinking concerning what am I going to do after I graduate.

Revamp

After a few months of my snowy layout, I decided to change things up a bit to make this blog a lot more personal than it has been. I tried to make all the colours match what you'd see at night and my banner title has a lot of personal meaning to me.

This blog first started out to try and get people to like my fanpage for Jump Start Idol. Of course, this was my first time ever blogging, so I'm pretty sure things were just uninteresting and dry for the most part. Also, I didn't make it in the top 5 for JSI, so that leaves this blog with almost no purpose.

Starting over with a revamp!

Hey everyone!

I just finished my exams yesterday and it's about time that I do some updating. As you can see, I changed up my blog a bit, but it's still missing some things.

So here's a question for you:
What would you like to see on my blog? (a.k.a. What would make you come back and check out my blog again and again?)

I'm also planning to do an introduction + starting over video. So if there are any questions you would like me to answer, please post a comment below.

I'm also creating a new fanpage for myself because I can't change the title of my current fanpage due to having over 100 likes. ^_^" If you have a request, feel free to post a comment about it below. :D

Way Overdue Update

It's been a long time since I've last updated because it's now midterm time at school. @.@

Updates:
- My 3rd video has been up on Youtube for a while. It's C-ute's latest single "Dance de Bakoon!".
- I quit my part-time job to allow for more study time (university is not easy).
- I'm working on more covers and hope to have them up on Youtube in the next week or two.
- I've reached 92 likes on my fanpage. I still have 908 more to go, so please spread the word and help me get 1000 likes so I can become a Jump Start Idol!

If you have any questions, don't be shy to ask them at Formspring and Ask.fm.
If you want to check out the latest videos I've watched and liked, then check out my Twitter.
Check out my fanpage for updates on new videos or subscribe to me on Youtube.

That's all for now. I hope to post more videos to get more likes and hopefully hit 1000.

Downs and Ups: My Week So Far

So I've been quite busy this week with killer hours at work. I was scheduled 3 days this week between 7-8 hours per shift. Unfortunately, my shift was scheduled tomorrow, which is also the same day as the Jpop/Kpop party held by Jump Start Club and was also suppose to be the place to gather more fans. Because I can't attend (and I really can't because my shift ends at 11pm @.@), I'll just have to work harder and try to get more videos out.

My 3rd video will be recorded soon. Sorry for the delay if you've been following and keeping up with me. >.< Remember, you can always send me suggestions and leave them in the comments section or post it in the discussion section of my fanpage.

On the upside, I got to see a few more people from my summer Japanese class. I met one of my classmates who is trying to get me fans for JSI (thank you so much :D). I also met my Japanese teacher and I felt so.. so.. lost for words because I haven't been practicing my Japanese, so I wasn't able to respond to her back in Japanese. >.< It just gives me more reason to review a bit, so that I don't lose what I learned forever. Gambarimasu!

Friday: The Day Before the Weekend

Yay, it's Friday!!! :D

So I decided to go eat at Sakura, a Japanese restaurant in Montreal, today. I went there twice during my 10 week Japanese summer class. I tried to use Japanese at much as possible, but sometimes I was just lost for words (but I was still able to successfully order my food in Japanese). :3 Salad was yummy as always (I love that salad dressing, must have it). Miso soup was nice and warm. I decided to go with the Shogun Deluxe this time, since I had already tried the Samurai and Sakura. (Yes, I order food that has cool names XD.) Ended the meal with green tea ice cream and some rice tea. Yum! <3 What was peculiar this time around was that my soya sauce was in a container that was teapot shaped. The entire time I thought it was tea until I opened it up. ^_^" I'm definitely going to ask to work at that restaurant during the summer (please hire me!!).

On the subject of thinking ahead, I decided to email some professors if I can work in their lab and guess what they said? I'm asking way too early. @.@ Are you serious? They must think I'm super crazy. >.< I'll ask back in January, but I thought lab spots get taken quickly, which is why I asked early in the semester. Oh well. ^_^"

So I have just hit 70+ fans. I will be taking my nicely dressed classmate/friend Joey's advice and do some spamming at local anime clubs. I've only done 1 anime song, so I'm not sure how much support I'll get, but I'll give it a try!

If you have any suggestions for songs I should do, please be a fan at my fanpage and post it in the appropriate discussion. If you don't have Facebook, then feel free to post your suggestions in the comments section below.

Small Update

Hey everyone!

While searching for more ways to get publicity, I saw that a lot of people use Formspring. So now you can ask me any question you want on my Formspring page that is located on the right side of my blog.

Another update is that I now have 65 fans! Yay! I just need another.. 935? @.@ I'm working on my new cover right now (I'm just having trouble finding the correct lyrics and memorizing them at the moment). I really hope to get it up by next week.

If you have any ideas on how I can get more publicity and more fans, leave it in the comment section.

School started today.. Now what do I do?

So I started school today! Yeah.. So much fun..

At least I met some people from my summer Japanese class today. It was kind of funny that when I replied with "Ohayo~" they were like "... Ohayo". I totally understand how they feel. I've gotten rusty with my Japanese too, since I haven't been practicing. I hope to have a little time to review during my busy schedule, especially the kanji. But I guess practicing conversation would be my first priority though.

I also had class with one of my friends today. :D Yay!

So after my classes were over, I finally got home and checked over all my class stuff to find out...that I need...to buy...a clicker!! @.@ So I'll have to magically buy my clicker, find a computer, register it all before class starts tomorrow. *sigh* I'm sure I can do it, but I wish I had checked this info when I was still on campus (or maybe not.. the line ups were super long at the bookstore).

Tomorrow is another day and while I am scheduled to have a lab tomorrow, I just hope I don't do any lab work other than inventory. Please no cleaning. >.<

Busy Busy Busy: The Day Before School Starts

So school starts tomorrow and I'm totally not prepared to go back. >.< But tomorrow will eventually come, which means that I have to wake up early in the morning and get myself to class.

Other than worrying about school, I got a new job recently and I have to work today. T_T It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't during the SYTYCD Canada results show. Oh well, I guess I'll have to look up the results tomorrow.

I'm also worrying about my upcoming piano exam in January, but I know that I'll do ok as long as I can fit some practice time into my schedule. @.@

In other news, I do have a Twitter account. I won't make any updates on it, but you can check some of the stuff I like and favorite on Youtube. Maybe you'll like it too.

I'm also slowly getting to 1000 likes on my fanpage. I have 59 likes at the moment. I'm hoping that my next video will help me out too. What is the next song I'm doing? I'll keep it a surprise until I get it on Youtube. It should be up by next week, so look forward to it!
